Helping Hands
Volunteer
-
There’s a place for everyone in this work.
Whether you give, volunteer, share your skills, or spread the word, your support helps feed neighbors, sustain local farms, and build a stronger, more connected Wayne County.
-
We’re always looking to partner with local farms that care about feeding their neighbors and strengthening our local food system.
Through the Farms to Families Fund, we purchase fresh, seasonal products directly from Wayne County farms.
These are then shared with families facing food insecurity through the Wayne County Food Pantry System.
If you’re a local grower, producer, or farm interested in selling through the Fund, here’s what to know:
We buy directly from Wayne County farms
We request your wholesale rate
We aim for consistent, seasonal purchasing to support your farm throughout the year
We coordinate closely with both farms and Pantry staff to match supply with need
Donate Financially
-
Every dollar you give to the Wayne County Farms to Families Fund, a fund under the Wayne County Community Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, goes directly toward purchasing fresh food from nearby farms.
-
When shopping at Dave’s Super Duper, you can “Round Up” to the nearest dollar, donating to the Farms to Families Fund.
