Accessibility in Wayne County
We love our historic buildings, but they’re not always the most accessible.
We want our residents and visitors to feel comfortable when they travel, so knowing a building’s accessibility ahead of time can make a difference.
AccessNow
Thanks to our Transportation Task Force, we are actively working on updating the AccessNow app to reflect the true accessibility, in our area. This helps our neighbors and visitors plan trips accordingly.
How it works
AccessNow is a crowdsourced platform to share accessibility information for places worldwide. You can search and review businesses or organizations, helping make the world more inclusive, one place at a time.
Our Transportation Task Force has also designed a custom “We’re Accessible” door sign to signal that a facility is or has been adapted to be accessible.
When in Wayne County, look for this symbol as we spread awareness to businesses and organizations throughout the county.
